Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our data, methodology, and how to use this site.
How often is data updated?
Data is refreshed periodically — not in real time. Each product guide and market report is timestamped with its last data update date so you can see exactly when the snapshot was taken. We prioritize data accuracy over speed, which is why we do not show live ticking prices.
What does "demand signal" mean?
Demand signal is our summary read of how actively a product is trading relative to its listing volume and price trend. It ranges from "hot" (high demand, rising prices) through "warm," "neutral," "cool," and "cold" (low demand, flat or declining prices). It is a directional indicator, not a precise metric.
Why do prices vary by platform?
Different marketplaces attract different seller populations and buyer expectations. StockX and GOAT authenticate sneakers and charge seller fees, which tends to produce higher prices. eBay and Mercari have lower barriers to entry but carry buyer-side authentication risk, which can produce lower prices. Our platform breakdown shows how listings are distributed across these marketplaces.
Is this financial advice?
No. All data on this site is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any product. Resale markets are volatile and past pricing does not guarantee future results.
Where does your data come from?
We pull raw listings from eBay, StockX, GOAT, Grailed, and Mercari. Each listing is then filtered for size, deduplicated, and checked for statistical outliers before we calculate median price, P25–P75 range, and demand signal. See our Methodology page for full details.
Do you ever estimate or fabricate prices?
No. If we do not have sufficient real listing data for a product, we mark it "data pending" rather than showing an estimated or placeholder number. We would rather show nothing than show a fabricated price.
Are you affiliated with any sneaker brand or marketplace?
No. ResalePriceGuide is independent. We are not affiliated with Nike, Jordan, StockX, GOAT, eBay, Grailed, Mercari, or any other brand or marketplace. We do not accept payment to feature, rank, or review products.
